On eastbound 215 approaching 515/95, drivers don’t get in the correct lane when they’re supposed to and then quickly cross over to get in their lane at the last second cutting others off.
Amber
This is a pretty consistent clash of cars between those in the correct lane, and those swinging in front of them at the last second. We want to try and make this transition safer.
This sign is up and over eastbound 215, about a half-mile from the end of the freeway, and your 515/95 choice is:
Stay left to go north to Las Vegas, or follow the freeway south to Boulder City by staying right.
The issue Amber refers to is cars on 215 waiting until the last second before realizing they’re in the wrong lane, and then they dart left or cut right.
The key here is choose the right lane right when you see that sign, putting your turn signal on for at least five seconds, to enter your lane of choice and then stay there!
Travel at the ramp speed of 40 MPH, and give yourself room between you and the car in front of you, to protect yourself from those braking and lane changing at the last second.
Hope this segment helps make it a little safer.
