The traffic light at American Pacific and Gibson Road only let’s one side of traffic go at a time. Sensor issue maybe?
Danielle
No, Danielle – this is an intersection operating in a Lead/Lag configuration – where one left and thru movement goes, then both thru movements, then the other left and thru movement.
Kind of…getting the green light in shifts.
Studies have found this helps extend the time available to move vehicles down the main street during the peak travel demand. In this case, that’s Gibson Road.
But our viewer did report that this occurs when there’s no traffic on American Pacific; causing the cars on busier Gibson Road to wait.
So RTC FAST will check to ensure this isn’t a detection problem.
They will also check to make sure the Lead/Lag configuration is being run correctly.
Let me know, Danielle, if you note improvements on Gibson, in the next few weeks. It should now be better.
