Please let people know you don’t have to stop when driving northbound Paradise to eastbound Russell if you stay in your own lane, until it’s safe to change lanes.
There’s no yield sign… yet people slow, stop, and risk being rear-ended by cars leaving the Airport Connector Tunnel.
Get the word out!
Glen
Will do, Glen.
Airport officials agree with Glen, and say, “no need” for a yield sign since traffic coming from Flight Path onto Paradise can move into its own lane leading to the right-turn lane for eastbound Russell.
Northbound drivers on Paradise coming from the Airport Tunnel can continue in their own parallel lanes.
Motorists, please note, you do not need to stop. I’m told a yield sign would only be used if traffic is being forced to merge into a lane, that is already being used by other drivers.
Our video from Chopper 8 did show weaving, illegal lane changes, some drivers slowing to yield, and others darting left to go north on Paradise, or shifting right to turn on Russell.
Because of that, I’ve sent this to Metro Police for increased enforcement.
No need to stop here – just use your signal and let other drivers know that you’re going to change lanes.
